“Kids spend an average of 1,000 hours per year in schools. It’s second only to the time they spend in their own homes, says Kara Rubio of Women for a Healthy Environment (WHE). Many schools in the Pittsburgh region are old and potentially full of environmental hazards.
That’s why WHE and Green Building Alliance (GBA) are relaunching the 1,000 Hours a Year initiative to fix these problems in schools and childcare centers across Southwestern PA.”
