Historically, Pittsburgh’s decisions were not always made by a table at which all affected people had a seat. Efforts are underway to make Pittsburgh the most livable city for everyone, particularly when it comes to access to clean water, clean air, transportation, and resources. City-wide efforts are focused on ensuring everyone participates in and benefits from increased access to affordable housing, public transportation, and green spaces — especially in previously under-served, low-income, and/or minority communities. As Pittsburgh continues to become a truly sustainable city, citizen, business, and government initiatives work in conjunction to keep everyone’s best interests in mind so that no one is at risk of behind left behind.
