Carnegie Mellon was the first university to complete a voluntary review of its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The goals are 17 global objectives designed to create a more equitable and sustainable planet by 2030. Millions of people around the world provided input on the goals, which were adopted by the international community in 2015.
“We recognize that sustainability goes beyond environmental topics to include critical issues of equity and inclusion,” said Provost and Chief Academic Officer James H. Garrett Jr. “By using the common language of the SDGs, we can link our education, research and practices to help shape a more sustainable and equitable future for all.”
