What was once one of the region’s most productive steel mills is now housing advanced manufacturing research facilities, and it’s doing so using clean energy technologies. Ministers and delegations from GCEAF will be touring Carnegie Mellon University’s auxiliary research and development space, Mill 19, home to the country’s largest single-sloped solar array and headquarters for CMU’s Manufacturing Futures Institute (MFI), Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing (ARM) Institute, and Catalyst Connection, and other advanced manufacturing institutes. Tour attendees will see demonstrations of several new clean air technologies.
