Pittsburgh Earns Place on World’s 100 Most Sustainable Cities Index 2016

Pittsburgh earned a place on the 2016 Arcadis Sustainable Cities Index, ranking 18th in the United States and 62nd in the world.  This Index ranks 100 global cities on the three pillars of sustainability: People (social), Planet (environmental), and Profit (economic).  It includes 32 indicators such as income inequality, education, crime, affordability; energy consumption, drinking water, sanitation, green space, transportation, economic development, and employment.
