Pittsburgh plans to add 36 electric vehicles to its fleet

The City of Pittsburgh announced plans to add three dozen electric vehicles to its fleet and increase its electric charging infrastructure as part of legislation introduced by Mayor William Peduto on Aug. 24.

Among those new plans include the possibility of Pittsburgh having five new electric garbage trucks and two electric recycling trucks, a first for the city. Pittsburgh would also accrue 13 electric inspector vehicles, 11 electric pickup trucks, three electric facilities vans and two electric motor pool vehicles for use across different departments.
